Sen. Lisa Baker comments on her bill that would extend heart and lung benefits to wildlife or waterways conservation officers. The bill was considered by the Labor and Industry Committee on June 29 and unanimously voted out:


HB 315 – Bill Summary – Rep. Ellis – Amends the Child Labor Act (Act 151 of 2012) to permit an individual who is at least 12 years of age to be employed as a “youth sports official.” A youth sports official is defined as a minor who enforces the rules and supervises the participants of a youth sporting event, including, but not limited to an umpire or referee. 12 and 13-year-old youth sports officials will not be required to procure a work permit and will be subject to the same hours limitations established for 14 and 15-year-old workers under current law.

SB 889 – Bill SummarySen. Baker – Extends benefits under the Enforcement Officer Disability Benefits Law (also known as the Heart and Lung Act) to enforcement officers and investigators of both the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC).
